Have you ever lived in an apartment in Colombo? If not, perhaps you might be so thankful you haven’t. When you hear about life in an apartment, of course, the first things that come to mind are monotonous lives with almost the same usual days, disturbed views with skyscrapers and polluted areas. However, it is quite not the truth. If you choose to have an amazing life on the topmost floor of an apartment, the city of Colombo, Sri Lanka is one of the best places you can make it a reality. Each day will be so different from all the other days that you will enjoy ‘brand new’ mornings, evenings, and nights with no doubt.
A morning in Colombo can be as beautiful as in Kandy in Sri Lanka or sometimes more than that. Waking up to a view that turning off all the lights in the previous night welcoming the sun rays while enjoying the cold breeze from Galle Face cannot be imagined! The view of green together with small ducts and canals rich in blue will add extra beauty to your morning. Many birds flying to start the day will often disturb your view. A healthy hot breakfast with a nice warm chat will make you for the day.
The day times can be as beautiful as ever. The blue horizon at Galle Face will be so bright and the cloudless blue sky will be so clear. Your ground view will be of different Sri Lankan lives from slums to palaces and often mingled with their day-to-day chores. No matter how they look, they will continue to fascinate you! Then and there you will see cats and dogs roaming around; mostly they are pets of the residents in slums. Perhaps a cat or two that have chosen to have a relaxed day on top of a roof might be the next resting place of your eyes for a few minutes. The unimaginable wind keeps you relaxed all day. And if it rains, you will have a few minutes to see how the rain comes towards you before it starts wetting where you are! And when it heavily rains you lose the site of other buildings and you will feel so isolated in the mist.
The day moves so fast, and the evenings are the most priceless times! Each day you will enjoy sunsets of different colors! Red, blue, orange, and purple. No matter you see the sunsets daily, you can never have two sunsets alike! If you miss one evening you can never have that evening again. The most yellowish sunrays of the whole day will bring your skin as bright as the sunset and it is the perfect time to have a cup of tea on your balcony. A nice classic fiction might add some more flavors to your perfect evening!
And it’s the ‘so high’ nighttime. When the sun rays start to disappear, you will start seeing the lights of skyscrapers first. If your site covers the view of the south and west Colombo, you will see the beautiful lights on Altair, Grand Hyatt Colombo, Havelock towers, and the Lotus Tower. Eventually, more lights will be turned on and when it is completely dark, you will start to think that you live in another world. A world full of beautiful colors. Mostly red, white and orange. It is hard to explain but worth seeing. It will be so hard to take your eyes off the view. These nights are too beautiful and far from reality to explain. And they are so energetic than you can ever imagine that will power you up for your next busy day ahead.
